The Colony#
The Colony was a massive structure the Cylons built around the original sublight ship of the Final Five, and it served as their homeworld. When the First Cylon War ended, the Final Five and the Centurions withdrew to the Colony, where the Final Five built the eight humanoid Cylon models. Before the Fall of the Twelve Colonies the Cylon invasion fleet gathered there and jumped straight from the Colony to the Colonies. The Number Ones later took control of the structure, moved it before the Cylon Civil War, and placed it in a stable orbit inside the accretion disc of a naked singularity. The assault#
The battle began after Boomer, a Number Eight, abducted Hera Agathon and brought her to the Colony, where the Cylons meant to experiment on her and learn what made her a successful human-Cylon hybrid. To rescue the child, Galactica mounted a bold offensive, ramming the station and sending boarding parties across into it. The defenders fought back with both modern Centurions and the older Centurion Model 0005 units that still served aboard, and the corridors of the Colony became the scene of close fighting under heavy fire. Despite the resistance, the boarding parties reached Hera, secured her, and carried her back to Galactica. The assault is the centrepiece of "Daybreak, Part II", the finale that closes the full run of the 2004 series. Destruction#
In the chaos of the battle, a damaged Raptor whose crew were already dead inadvertently launched its nuclear missiles, which struck the Colony and knocked it out of its stable orbit around the singularity. After Galactica jumped away, the Colony was left to fall into the black hole, ending the Cylon homeworld and the war that had pursued the human survivors across the stars.
