Ancient
Ancient is a dark blue and gold operative who served as both an agent of the Order of Mata Nui and a member of the Dark Hunters, armed with Kanoka and a Rhotuka.

Ancient was a veteran Dark HunterThe Dark HuntersA mercenary organization founded on Odina by The Shadowed One and Ancient, contracted across the Matoran Universe for assassination and theft, and ultimately reduced to a battered remnant by the fall of the universe itself. and an undercover member of the Order of Mata NuiThe Order of Mata NuiThe covert organization founded by Helryx to serve the Great Spirit directly, operating in concealment from a fortress on Daxia and waging the open war against the Brotherhood of Makuta that decided the fate of the universe.. One of the oldest Dark Hunters, he was the Shadowed One's most trusted agent after Sentrakh. It was Ancient who first inspired the Dark Hunters: he was the first to reject the codes of behavior on his and the Shadowed One's home island and to sell his services to anyone of his species who wanted them. This transformed a peaceful society into a war-torn one, as warlords sought him out to crush their enemies.
Ancient and Voporak were sent to find the Vahi, the Mask of Time, around the same time the Piraka were on Voya Nui. The two determined that the Vahi was in Metru NuiMetru NuiThe city beneath Mata Nui functions as the Great Spirit's brain, housing the Matoran whose labor keeps the god alive. and that the agent known as the Dweller was already pursuing it there. There he received a coded message instructing him to fulfil his duty to the Order of Mata Nui: to convince the Shadowed One to side with the Order or to kill him. He carried out the task without revealing his true affiliation.
Ancient was later with the Shadowed One on Xia, working to eliminate the Vortixx and stop them from making weapons for the Brotherhood of MakutaThe Brotherhood of MakutaAn organization of Makuta created by Mata Nui to police his universe and build Rahi, later seized by Teridax and turned into the instrument of the Plan that overthrew the Great Spirit.. His mission ended when the Shadowed One disintegrated him to keep the secret of Makuta Kojol's virus. Because he had been disintegrated, Ancient could not be revived on the Red Star.
Ancient possessed great strength and near-impenetrable armor. His feet were equipped with levitation Kanoka disks, allowing him to hover at will, and he wielded a Rhotuka Launcher with rapid-fire capability, its spinners causing targets to lose all physical coordination. He was the only being in the storyline known to know the Shadowed One's true name, and he was responsible for recruiting Vezok into the Dark Hunters.
