Battle Axes
Lewa's transforming Jungle weapon that shifts between combat axes, an aerial glider, and swords.

LewaLewaToa of Air, member of the Toa Mata and Toa Nuva, whose career was marked by repeated possession, body theft, and aerial campaigns from Le-Wahi to Karda Nui. Master of Jungle refused to settle for one weapon mode. His Battle Axes could transform between three completely different configurations, each designed for a different tactical need. As paired axes, they were his primary melee tool. Transform them, and they became the X-Glider, a sleek aerial transport that let him cross OkotoOkotoOkoto is a world whose known inhabitants include the Toa, the Mask makers, and the Protectors.'s Jungle canopy quickly. A third configuration locked them as swords for close-quarters defense. It's a practical design that showed how G2 weapons prioritized flexibility: one set, three solutions.
Functionality#

The axes themselves weren't fancy. They were straightforward Jungle tools built for cutting through dense vegetation and defending against threats like the Skull SpidersSkull SpidersThe arachnid swarm that raided the villages of Okoto, clamped infection masks onto its captives, guarded the City of the Mask Makers under the Lord of Skull Spiders, and broke against the arrival of the Toa. that roamed OkotoOkotoOkoto is a world whose known inhabitants include the Toa, the Mask makers, and the Protectors.. But the real engineering was in the transformation system. The two axes could separate into their primary form or combine into the X-Glider, a configuration that let LewaLewaToa of Air, member of the Toa Mata and Toa Nuva, whose career was marked by repeated possession, body theft, and aerial campaigns from Le-Wahi to Karda Nui. bypass ground obstacles entirely. A third mode locked them as swords for situations where axe weight wasn't ideal.
This modularity was core to G2's design philosophy. Rather than give each Toa a single static weapon, LewaLewaToa of Air, member of the Toa Mata and Toa Nuva, whose career was marked by repeated possession, body theft, and aerial campaigns from Le-Wahi to Karda Nui.'s arsenal adapted. It meant fewer pieces in the set but more gameplay and storytelling possibilities. The X-Glider specifically became one of the more visually distinctive silhouettes of the 2015 reboot, making LewaLewaToa of Air, member of the Toa Mata and Toa Nuva, whose career was marked by repeated possession, body theft, and aerial campaigns from Le-Wahi to Karda Nui.'s aerial movement something audiences could recognize instantly.
Lewa's Arsenal#
For LewaLewaToa of Air, member of the Toa Mata and Toa Nuva, whose career was marked by repeated possession, body theft, and aerial campaigns from Le-Wahi to Karda Nui., the Battle Axes represented his full spectrum of options. In OkotoOkotoOkoto is a world whose known inhabitants include the Toa, the Mask makers, and the Protectors.'s Jungle region, mobility mattered as much as raw power. The X-Glider configuration gave him that edge when navigating the canopy or escaping ground-level confrontations. When the Skull SpidersSkull SpidersThe arachnid swarm that raided the villages of Okoto, clamped infection masks onto its captives, guarded the City of the Mask Makers under the Lord of Skull Spiders, and broke against the arrival of the Toa. or other threats closed in, he had the axes and swords.
The weapon's design reflected what a Jungle Protector actually needed: tools for combat, tools for movement, and nothing wasted on redundancy. Not every hero gets to say that about their gear.
