A city of the brothers#

The City of the Mask Makers was raised centuries in the past, though ancient carvings around and beneath it predated the city itself. An early feature of the region was the Temple of LightThe Temple of LightThe great temple at the center of Mata Nui where the Mask of Light was placed, the Toa of Light was born, and the gate to Mangaia opened beneath the floor., over which the Temple of CreationTemple of CreationThe Temple of Creation lay buried in the dunes of Po-Wahi, dedicated to the Principle of Creation and gated behind four charms and a Kolhii skill check. was later built. Several graveyards lay within the city, at least some of them holding the skeletal remains of beings larger than ordinary Okotans, remains that would later be transformed into the monstrous Skull WarriorsSkull WarriorsThe undead ice-armed footsoldiers raised from the giant skeletons buried beneath the City of the Mask Makers, deployed by Kulta the Skull Grinder as the numerical backbone of his assault on the abandoned capital of Okoto.. The city also held an arena where athletes, among them the future Skull SlicerSkull SlicerA former arena victor who drains masks of their power as Kulta's lieutenant., competed in games for the entertainment of the residents, and it was the site of the Festival of Masks, a grand celebration of the masks worn by all Okotans regardless of tribe.
