The real threat isn't their individual strength. It's their ability to corrupt masks. Life and Evolution#
Kraata mature through six distinct stages, each one more dangerous than the last. Their physical form shifts with each stage, the arrangement of sensory organs on their heads transforming as their power grows. But there's a seventh stage, and it's rare enough that few Kraata ever reach it. Those who do become solid violet and gain a terrifying upgrade: they can infect masks from a distance. They no longer need to slither close and touch their prey. A seventh-stage Kraata only loses this range advantage if someone manages to grip it firmly, which, given their nature, is harder than it sounds.
