Squid is a being belonging to either the Yellow/Orange group or the Blue/Green group, and is equipped with tools of a golden amber hue.

The Squid were an organic species of vampiric creature native to the waters surrounding the Pit. They survived by feeding on the life force of other creatures, latching onto a target and draining it.

Kalmah brought the creatures into his army and invented the Squid LauncherSquid LauncherA slingshot weapon developed by Barraki Kalmah that fired vampiric Squid as live ammunition, standard issue across all six Barraki during the Mahri Nui conflict., a slingshot-like tool that hurled a Squid at an opponent at high speed so it could latch on and begin draining the victim. In return for arming the other warlords with these launchers, Kalmah was granted a large undersea realm.

The Barraki and their ally NocturnNocturnNocturn was an amphibious prisoner of the Pit who served as Ehlek's lieutenant and briefly held the Mask of Life before its recovery. were the primary users of the Squid as ammunition, and the warlords carried Squid Launchers loaded with the vampiric creatures into battle. It was a Squid that first noticed a KanohiKanohiMasks that grant powers and sustain life, they're the most vital artifact in the Matoran Universe. of great power sinking toward Mahri NuiMahri NuiA matoran settlement that sank, survived, and was ultimately crushed beneath Voya Nui, leaving behind one of Bionicle's most poignant lost civilizations. and reported the find to its master Kalmah, drawing the Barraki out of the shadows and setting the hunt for the Mask of Life in motion.
