The chambers#
The staircase passed through several distinct rooms. The first, and reputed to be the most dangerous, was the Nightmare Zone, which replicated the worst fears of those who entered it. Umbra could move at extreme speed and shift into a laser mode, while Protodax carried a Zamor launcher that shrank its targets and could multiply itself each time it was struck. Umbra knocked Protodax aside to face the Inika alone and was defeated. A lava-chamber gate near the end spanned a river of lava on a great bridge, and it was here that the Piraka ambushed and defeated the Inika who had been pursuing them.
