Origin in the Melding universe#

Teridax was created as a warrior of light for the Great BeingsThe Great BeingsScholar-inventors of Spherus Magna whose creations shaped the Matoran Universe and whose absence defined the conflicts that followed.. He and his brothers had been brought into being for the purpose of eliminating the powers of darkness present on Spherus Magna. As Teridax himself stated, his role was to aid the Toa and the villagers, to create new life forms, and to teach those life forms the value of the Three Virtues. This was the inverse of the path his main-reality counterpart had taken, and it left the two beings sharing a name and a species but nothing of character.

He led the pair across the Melding reality to their destination, acting as escort and protector in a role his other self would never have accepted.
Crossing to the Matoran Universe#
After arriving at the fortress, Mazeka was offered the privilege of allowing one being from the Melding universe to return with him to his own universe in exchange for Vultraz. The being Mazeka selected was Teridax. The choice carried obvious weight: of all the inhabitants of a reality untouched by the great betrayal, Mazeka chose the one whose face matched his world's greatest enemy.
The two arrived back in the MatoranMatoranThe most abundant species in the Matoran Universe, chosen by Mata Nui to inhabit and maintain his cosmic body. They eventually came upon a ridge overlooking a deserted Ba-Matoran village, where they discussed how, had he been in the same situation, the alternate Teridax might have been just as ruthless as his counterpart.

This version of Teridax carried a Warhammer and wore a golden Kanohi Kraahkan, the Great Mask of Shadows, the same mask his corrupted counterpart bore.
