Toa (2001)
Biomechanical heroes bonded to elemental powers and masks. Not born, but chosen and transformed.
Toa aren't born. They're made. This stands as one of Bionicle's cleanest worldbuilding principles: the ordinary became extraordinary not through bloodline or luck, but through calling.

Here's where Bionicle's moral universe gets interesting: a Toa has to refuse to kill. Justice, protection, sacrifice for those who can't defend themselves. These are the load-bearing principles. Betray the code and you stop being a Toa. You lose the title. This isn't window dressing.
In Challenge of the Hordika, Rahaga KualusKualusKualus is a Toa of Ice and member of the Toa Hagah, formerly serving as one of the elite bodyguards of Makuta Teridax before dedicating himself to the protection of the Matoran. White and metallic blue in color, he wields a Sub-Zero Spear and a Rhotuka Launching Shield, and wears the Great Mask of Rahi Control, granting him the power to direct the minds of animal life. He resides on Spherus Magna. articulates the core principle that Toa work to save those who cannot save themselves. This is the code in miniature. A Toa doesn't exist for glory or personal victory. They exist to protect those who need protection.
