Vultraz
Vultraz is a Shadow Matoran, formerly a Ta-Matoran, who wears a powerless Mask of Scavenging and carries a sword. Dark red and black in coloration, he possesses an active power of Shadow while his former affinity for Fire remains inactive. He resides in a parallel universe.

He entered the service of the Makuta GorastGorastA Makuta defined by rage and ruthlessness, Gorast conquered the Visorak and became Teridax's most devoted enforcer. and worked for some time under her command.
On a far-flung scouting mission, Vultraz discovered a way into the legendary Karda NuiKarda NuiThe vast inner cavern at the core of the Matoran Universe, original home of the Av-Matoran, site of the Codrex and the final battle that decided the fate of Mata Nui., the core of the Matoran Universe. The news was quickly relayed to TeridaxMakuta (Species)Shadowy Antidermis beings and the Brotherhood's elite, Makuta commanded darkness and shaped the Matoran Universe's fate., who ordered the Brotherhood of MakutaThe Brotherhood of MakutaAn organization of Makuta created by Mata Nui to police his universe and build Rahi, later seized by Teridax and turned into the instrument of the Plan that overthrew the Great Spirit. to travel to the universe core and seize it.
Vultraz clashed with the Ko-Matoran MazekaMazekaA Ko-Matoran spy for the Order of Mata Nui obsessed with becoming the perfect warrior. at De-Koro, where both were searching for a Matoran named Krakua. Vultraz unleashed a sonic blast device to incapacitate the village's sound-sensitive inhabitants, but Mazeka shielded Krakua's audio receptors in time, and the two fought while Krakua was carried off by an invisible member of the Order of Mata Nui. Gorast later saved Vultraz's life in secret and, disguised as a blue warrior, instructed Mazeka to spread word of his death.
Vultraz and Mazeka were eventually transported from the Prime Reality through a portal in Karda Nui to an alternate Spherus Magna, a world where the Makuta had never turned evil and were beings of light. There they briefly met that universe's HelryxHelryxHelryx was the first Toa created by the Great Beings, founder of the Order of Mata Nui, and commander of its covert war against the Brotherhood of Makuta., a Ga-Matoran, accompanied by a Toa Macku. The alternate TeridaxMakuta (Species)Shadowy Antidermis beings and the Brotherhood's elite, Makuta commanded darkness and shaped the Matoran Universe's fate. of that world agreed to leave Vultraz behind in exchange for the chance to bring one inhabitant back with him, and Vultraz remained in the parallel universe.
