Zemya

Zemya is an Onu-MatoranOnu-MatoranEarth-wielding Matoran of the deep who adapted to darkness and built the Matoran Universe's defensive cavalry. who wears a Kanohi Hau. Very little is known of his life on Metru NuiMetru NuiThe city beneath Mata Nui functions as the Great Spirit's brain, housing the Matoran whose labor keeps the god alive., though like the other Matoran he was captured by the Vahki and placed in a Matoran Sphere. He later lived in Onu-Koro on the island of Mata Nui, where he ran Zemya's Shop and sold supplies to fellow Onu-Matoran and to occasional travellers such as Hahli.

In Onu-Koro, Zemya was a Trader, an occupation whose members usually sold their goods at marketplaces such as the Onu-Koro Marketplace. He was believed to lead the Onu-Koro Trading Guild, a union of Onu-Matoran traders. The Guild complained that the Onu-Koro Marketplace was isolated from the rest of the island and that a lack of Lightstones made it difficult for Po-Matoran Traders to do business there. When it was suggested the Guild trade by sea like the Ga-Matoran, it objected on account of the dangerous Tarakava that prowled the waters.

As Guildmaster of Trade, Zemya represented the Trading Guild on the Onu-Koro Council, the advisory body to Turaga Whenua. The Council also included Onepu, head of the Ussalry, an unidentified Captain who controlled ground forces and mining, and an unidentified Guildmaster of miners. Zemya spoke to Whenua during a Council meeting. His shop was damaged when the Gahlok flooded the village and again when the Rahkshi attacked Onu-Koro. Zemya survived to be evacuated into the reformed Spherus Magna.
