Taipu
Taipu is a black and tan Onu-Matoran of the element of Earth who resides on Spherus Magna. A miner by trade, he wields a pickaxe and wears the Kanohi Pakari.

Taipu is an Onu-MatoranOnu-MatoranEarth-wielding Matoran of the deep who adapted to darkness and built the Matoran Universe's defensive cavalry., a being of the element of Earth who spent most of his life in mines and deep underground. He was one of the diggers of Onu-Koro, and his great strength set him apart among his fellow Matoran. He was a member of the Chronicler's Company, the band of Matoran drawn from every village in which each member contributed a unique skill, Taipu's being his strength.
Working alongside the other Onu-Koro diggers, Taipu helped complete the tunnel connecting to Le-Wahi. While traveling to Le-KoroLe-KoroLe-Koro is a village situated within Le-Wahi, inhabited by the Le-Matoran and home to Turaga Matau and Toa Lewa. The settlement was once held under the control of Teridax. he was carried off by a Nui-RamaNui-RamaLarge insect-like Rahi with deadly claws and venom, known for kidnapping Matoran and attacking Le-Koro., one of many Le-Matoran and others taken to the insects' hive. During the Bohrok crisis he aided NuparuNuparuAn Onu-Matoran engineer from Metru Nui who built the Boxor and rose to become a Toa of Earth despite no warrior destiny., helping along with Onepu to modify a captured Gahlok shell into the Boxor combat vehicle, and he served as a member of the Boxor Squad.
At the Battle of Kini-Nui, Taipu fought alongside TakuaTakuaAn Av-Matoran hidden on Mata Nui as a Ta-Matoran, who gathered the Toa Stones, served as Chronicler, and ultimately accepted the Avohkii to become Takanuva, the Toa of Light., Macku, Kapura, Hafu, Kopeke, and Tamaru, beating back waves of Rahi with disks so that the Toa could complete their mission. The company held the Kini-Nui long enough for the Toa MataWho are the Toa Mata?Six warriors built to order by Artakha, stored in canisters, dropped into the ocean. This is the origin story of Bionicle's heroes and why their first week of work was entirely amnesiac. to defeat TeridaxTeridaxTeridax orchestrated a thousand-year scheme that ended with him occupying the Great Spirit Robot itself before his death on Bara Magna., with defense teams from other villages arriving to reinforce them as their numbers began to fail.
At the end of the Matoran Universe, a massive quake struck Metru Nui and buried Taipu under rubble. He was pulled free by Tamaru and Macku, and seeing Kopeke rescuing other Onu-Matoran, Taipu proposed that the surviving members reform the Chronicler's Company to help evacuate the Matoran Universe.
