Nui-Rama
Large insect-like Rahi with deadly claws and venom, known for kidnapping Matoran and attacking Le-Koro.

Nui-Rama embodied what raw predatory instinct produced at a frightening scale: insects large enough to threaten entire settlements. In the Mata NuiMata NuiBuilt by the Great Beings to restore Spherus Magna, Mata Nui sustained an entire civilisation inside his body, was deposed by Teridax, and reclaimed his purpose as a mortal on Bara Magna. What Are Nui-Rama?#

These oversized insects are among Bionicle's most straightforward threats. Each Nui-Rama combines the worst traits of actual wasps: a pair of massive claws for grappling, a venomous stinger, and the instinct to swarm. They exist in orange and black or lime and green color variants, depending on their specific population, and they lack KanohiKanohiMasks that grant powers and sustain life, they're the most vital artifact in the Matoran Universe. masks, meaning they're driven by biology and instinct alone.
The RahiRahiThe Rahi were the biomechanical wildlife of the Matoran Universe, built largely by the Brotherhood of Makuta, ranging from background fauna to engineered war beasts. Beasts catalog establishes them as hive creatures. A single Nui-Rama is dangerous. A dozen coordinated ones are a war crime waiting to happen. That's the design logic, and it's what makes them stick in your memory. They're simple, relentless, and hard to escape.

It's a rare moment where these creatures show a trait beyond raw predation: they can be bribed. They want food. That detail reframes them from mindless killers to animals operating on hunger and instinct. It's minor, but it's the kind of specificity that separates Bionicle from a generic monster roster.
