Viktor Vektor: V's Ripperdoc in Cyberpunk 2077
Viktor Vektor is the ex-boxer ripperdoc in Watson who patches V up, gives them credit and tells them the Relic is killing them. Here's who Vik is, what he does in the story and Phantom Liberty, and what happens to him in each ending.
Viktor Vektor, "Vik" to his friends, is the ripperdoc who looks after V in Cyberpunk 2077. He runs a no-frills clinic in the basement behind Misty's Esoterica in Little China, Watson. He's a former boxer, extends V credit without complaint, and is the first to tell V that the Relic in their head is going to kill them. (Cyberpunk 2077)
Who is Viktor Vektor?#
Vik is an old-school street tough with a strict code, according to his database entry, which credits the Night City Devils boxing club with teaching him his sense of honour. He's a minor legend in the city and has spent years trying to get people to forget it. His clinic is the opposite of the glossy corporate ones: no logos, no zen garden, and maybe a beer with your anaesthetic if you're polite. (Cyberpunk 2077)
A certificate in his clinic shows he finished second in the Watson Boxing Grand Prix. He still follows the fights, and his clinic sits behind the shop run by Misty, his close friend. (Cyberpunk 2077)
Viktor's credit and V's debt#
In "The Ripperdoc," before the heist on Konpeki Plaza, V needs new chrome and can't pay. Vik fits new optics and a hand implant and takes an IOU, calling it an investment to make sure V comes back alive. V ends up owing him 21,000 eddies. If V comes back to pay in "Paid in Full," Vik tries to refuse and says V could put the money to better use. V has to insist. (Cyberpunk 2077)
What does Viktor tell V about the Relic?#
After Dex shoots V and the Relic brings them back, Takemura delivers V to Vik's clinic. In "Playing for Time," Vik explains the problem: the chip is slowly writing Johnny's personality over V's. However good he is, he can't take it out. He gives V pills to slow the symptoms and an open door. (Cyberpunk 2077)
Later, when V starts seeing strange murals and asks about them, Vik can only repeat that V has to get rid of the Relic fast. (Cyberpunk 2077)
Viktor and Jackie#
At Jackie's ofrenda in "Heroes," Vik leaves a pair of boxing gloves. He explains that Jackie was the first person he ever trained who knocked him out with one punch. (Cyberpunk 2077)
He shows his boxing side again in "Beat on the Brat," acting as V's coach for the fight with Razor Hugh in Pacifica. He tells V that Razor's new abdominal implants are a weak point. If V takes a bribe and throws the fight, Vik notices and says so. (Cyberpunk 2077)
Viktor in Phantom Liberty#
When V brings up the plan to use a neural matrix holding an AI from beyond the Blackwall, Vik thinks it might work and tells V to try, since they need every option they can get. (Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty)
What happens to Viktor in the endings?#
Vik leaves V a message in every ending, and what he says depends on the outcome:
- The Devil, V on the Arasaka orbital station: he wonders whether Earth really looks that beautiful from up there and offers a full checkup if V gets back. (Cyberpunk 2077)
- The Star, leaving with the Aldecaldos: he warns V about dust in their implants and asks them to drop by. (Cyberpunk 2077)
- The Sun, V running the Afterlife: he tells V to take what they can from life and to visit. (Cyberpunk 2077)
- Temperance, V stays in Mikoshi: he asks V just to let him know they're alive. (Cyberpunk 2077)
- The Tower: Zetatech has taken over Misty's shop, and Vik works for the corporation. He confirms V's diagnosis in 2079, then apologises for how the visit ended and says Zetatech is sending him to Frisco while it refits his clinic. (Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty)
If V dies or gives up, he records a message, pushed by Misty, saying he wishes he could have done more. (Cyberpunk 2077)
