The Tormentor
Massive Necromorph of Titan Station
The Tormentor was a gigantic Necromorph built from many corpses that hunted Isaac Clarke through Titan Station, its bone armor proof against gunfire until he turned the void itself against it.
The Tormentor was a gigantic Necromorph built from many corpses that hunted Isaac Clarke through Titan Station, also called the Sprawl. Its body was sheathed in bone armor that gunfire could not break, and Isaac was forced to use the void of space itself to destroy it.
Form#
The Tormentor was a gigantic Necromorph with a long, slender body and greatly elongated limbs. Most of it was hardened bone material like that of a Brute, forming armor so tough that even high-caliber weapons could not break it. At the end of a flexible neck sat a head formed from the head of a single human victim, its upper jaw widened into a fanged maw with a pair of mandibles protruding from either side of the face. The forelimbs were extremely long, with glowing yellow tissue near the shoulder joints that served as a weak point; if it took enough damage there, the tissue burst and the limb was severed. The rest of the body was a serpentine, misshapen mass of bone fragments and necrotic tissue, supported by two small middle legs that helped carry its weight.
The hunt on Titan Station#
The Tormentor's presence was felt before it was seen. As Isaac Clarke first met the Stalkers in the Unitologist Church, he sensed an enormous Necromorph breaking and jamming a door, though nothing of its size or nature was yet known. It revealed itself after his escape from Daina Le Guin. Fleeing a pursuing gunship, Isaac fell through a vent into a bloodstained pit, where the Tormentor appeared, roared, and seized him in one of its arms. He fired on the yellow tissue at the arm's shoulder to dismember the limb and free himself.
Death in the void#
After tearing off the Tormentor's arm, Isaac ran for a window. The gunship reappeared outside and opened fire, shattering the glass and sucking both Isaac and the Tormentor out into space, the creature whirling in the zero gravity. Isaac caught hold of the gunship, but the Tormentor crashed into it as well and grabbed his leg. The creature was briefly distracted by fuel canisters drifting from the gunship's ruptured hull, and Isaac shot one of them. The explosion killed the Tormentor and flung Isaac spiraling back through a window into the Cassini Towers.

- How did Isaac Clarke kill the Tormentor?
- Isaac's only openings were the glowing yellow tissue near its shoulder joints, which would burst and sever a limb when struck enough. After the two were sucked out into space, the Tormentor seized his leg, and Isaac shot a fuel canister drifting from a ruptured gunship, killing the creature and flinging him back into the Cassini Towers.
