Daina Le Guin
Unitologist Handler of the Sprawl
Daina Le Guin was a high ranking Unitologist who helped orchestrate the Necromorph outbreak on Titan Station and led the Church's effort to seize Isaac Clarke for his ability to build Red Markers.
Daina Le Guin was a high ranking member of the Church of Unitology on Titan Station who helped engineer the Necromorph outbreak there and led the effort to take Isaac Clarke for the Church. Knowing that EarthGov had used Isaac's mind to assemble the Site 12 Marker, the Unitologists wanted the engineer for the same gift, and Daina presented herself to him as a rescuer offering a cure for his Marker-induced dementia.
Outbreak on the Sprawl#
Before the Necromorph outbreak on the Sprawl, the Unitologists of Titan Station had laid plans to pull Isaac Clarke out of the EarthGov asylum where he was being held, and Daina Le Guin headed that effort. She and Tyler Radikov were among the believers who took part in sabotaging the Government Sector, and when the station was overrun the Church set its plans in motion. The Unitologist Franco Delille freed Isaac and tried to warn him of his situation, but was killed by an Infector before he could finish. Daina, who had been monitoring Franco's progress, contacted Isaac directly and urged him to flee the creatures closing in around him.
Daina offered Isaac her help in escaping the station and promised to cure the dementia that EarthGov's Project Telomere had left him with. Isaac was uncooperative at first, and she left him to fend for himself until an encounter with several Necromorphs drove him to call her back and admit that she was his best chance of getting out alive. She told him what had happened during the three years he had lost on the Sprawl and warned him that Hans Tiedemann now wanted him dead for his connection to the Site 12 Marker.
Betrayal and death#
Daina led Isaac from the Titan Memorial Medical Center toward the Cassini Towers, guiding him deeper and deeper into the Titan Station Church of Unitology. As the route carried him further into the Church complex, Isaac grew suspicious and hesitated, certain the place was dangerous. Daina pressed him on, reminding him that she had lost a brother in the work of saving him and insisting her plan would succeed. She directed him to a safe room within the complex and waited for him there, revealing nothing of her true purpose until he arrived.
When Isaac reached the rendezvous, two of Daina's men apprehended him. With the engineer in her grasp, Daina at last admitted that the cure she had dangled before him was a ruse, invented only to draw him to the Church and its uses for his Marker knowledge.
