Corrin V was a Padishah Emperor of the Known Universe and a scion of House Corrino who ruled during the Era of the Princes. In an age defined by the constant turnover of Corrino claimants, he held the Golden Lion Throne on nine separate occasions between 1846 AG and 1969 AG, deposed and restored again and again as rival kinsmen contested the succession.
The nine reigns#
Corrin first became Emperor in 1846 AG, succeeding his uncle Irulon I. He ruled only two years before being deposed in 1848 in favor of his second cousin Sidir VI. The two alternated on the throne over the following decades: Corrin was restored in 1862 and ruled until 1877, when Sidir returned, and Corrin took the throne again in 1882 for a brief third reign that lasted until 1884, when he was deposed in favor of his cousin Ezhar III.
Restored a fourth time in 1897 as successor to his cousin Audrii III, Corrin was deposed within the same year in favor of his own son, Corrin VI. When the younger Corrin was himself deposed in 1908, Corrin V returned for a fifth reign that lasted until 1919, when another son, Corrin VII, took his place.
Later restorations#
A sixth reign began in 1935, again succeeding Corrin VI, and ran until 1937, when Audrii III displaced him for a single year before Corrin V was restored once more. He then ruled until 1940, when he was deposed in favor of Costin III, a grandson of Irulon I. In 1955 he was restored yet again, succeeding Sidir VII, a son of Sidir VI, and ruled until 1956, when Sidir VII's brother Negara III replaced him.
Corrin V's ninth and final reign began in 1965, when he once more succeeded a Sidir on the throne. He ruled until 1969, when he was succeeded again by Audrii III, bringing to a close one of the most repeatedly interrupted reigns of the House Corrino line.
