Cyclops Berserker
the greatest breed of the one-eyed giants
The Cyclops Berserker was the largest and fiercest breed of Cyclops, a club-wielding giant often loosed upon the field by the Beast Lords who rode upon its shoulders. Kratos broke many of these brutes across Greece and faced them again in the trials of Valhalla.
The Cyclops Berserker was the largest and fiercest breed of Cyclops, a towering one-eyed giant that swung an uprooted tree as a club and was often loosed upon the battlefield by the Beast Lords who clung to its shoulders. Kratos broke many of these brutes through the wars of Greece, tearing the single eye from each, and faced their kind once more in the trials of Valhalla.
The mightiest of the Cyclopes#
Among the one-eyed giants of Greece, the Cyclops Berserker stood as the largest and most powerful breed, a brute far greater than the common Cyclops. Its chosen weapon was a gigantic tree trunk, torn whole from the earth and swung as a club. Such was its strength and bulk that it served as a heavy beast of war wherever the giants were set loose, a creature meant to scatter and crush whatever stood before it.
These giants were closely bound to the Beast Lords, who would summon them to the field and then haul themselves up onto the giant's shoulders. From that perch a Beast Lord took control of the Cyclops Berserker and drove it to fight with greater fury and more dangerous strokes than it would loose on its own, the rider and the beast together making a single terror upon the battlefield.
Foe of Kratos#
Kratos contended with Cyclops Berserkers across many of his campaigns. He first met them at the Ruins of the Forgotten and again near the entrance to the Palace of the Fates, where they were summoned against him by the Beast Lords. He faced them once more in his later wars, fighting one in Olympia in order to pass through the shields of Helios, and another in the Caverns of Olympus, where he used the stunned giant to help bring down a host of Cyclops Enforcers; even a corpse-risen variant rose against him upon the shoulders of Cronos.
To slay such a beast, Kratos would first wear it down, then leap upon it and stab his way up its body until he could seize and tear out its single great eye, which he added to his store of Cyclops eyes. With the Claws of Hades he could summon a Cyclops Berserker of his own, which struck out with its feet and slammed its fist upon the ground to harm the enemies around him. Long after the fall of Greece, in the trials of Valhalla, the Cyclops Berserkers appeared once again among the old beasts of his homeland, fighting much as the Ogres of the Norse realms did, their single eyes still the price of their defeat.

The Cyclopes were a species of burly, one-eyed giants, once peaceful herders and stonemasons banished to the Underworld before Zeus freed them to fight the Titans. In time they became beasts of war in the armies of the gods, their near-divine strength enough to threaten even demigods.
Claws of Hades
The Claws of Hades were chained weapons wielded by Hades, god of the Underworld, who used their magic to tear the souls from his enemies. Kratos stole them in battle, claimed the god's own soul with them, and carried them as a means of ripping and summoning the souls of the dead.
Cronos
Cronos was the Titan of Time and Harvest, last and mightiest of the Titans born to Gaia and Ouranos. He overthrew his own father, was overthrown by his son Zeus, and was condemned to bear Pandora's Temple before dying at the hands of Kratos.
Helios
Helios was the God of the Sun and Guardian of Oaths, second only to the greatest Olympians in might. Once saved by Kratos from the Titan Atlas, he later fell to the same Spartan, who tore off his head and used it as a lantern through Olympus.
