By Joe Garratt

Raeb was a dwarven musician and the proprietor of the tavern in Nidavellir, in Svartalfheim. Blunt and cynical, he directed Kratos toward Durlin during the search for Tyr, and later performed the music for Brok's funeral.

Tavern keeper of Nidavellir#

Raeb kept the tavern in Nidavellir, a small and unwelcoming place, though music was his true passion. When Kratos sought out Durlin as part of the search for Tyr, Raeb gave up Durlin's location readily, but showed himself blunt and sarcastic, bearing a bitter anger toward Mimir, whom he dismissed as a condescending skull. His resentment reflected the dwarves' wider grievance at the Aesir's interference in their affairs.

Brok's funeral#

Raeb was present at the funeral of Brok, paying his respects alongside Lunda, Durlin, Sindri, Kratos, Mimir, and Freya. Though he spoke little, he honored Brok by performing the music for the ceremony, lending the occasion a solemn and respectful tone that reflected the close-knit bonds of the craftsmen of Nidavellir and their shared grief.
