Garm

Krogan Battlemaster of the Blood Pack

Garm was a krogan Battlemaster who led the Blood Pack on Omega and was notorious for a regenerative resilience even greater than that of most krogan. He joined a three-way alliance of mercenary leaders to destroy the vigilante Archangel, and died in the assault on the turian's stronghold.

By Joe Garratt

Garm was a krogan Battlemaster who led the Blood Pack mercenary group on Omega. Garrus Vakarian described him as a freak of nature, capable of regenerating faster than most of his kind, and Garm took particular pride in being the only mercenary leader to have fought the vigilante Archangel in single combat and survived.

Leader of the Blood Pack#

Garm commanded the Blood Pack on Omega and was known for a resilience that set him apart even among krogan, able to regenerate faster than most of his kind. He had once fought one-on-one with Garrus Vakarian while the turian was operating as the vigilante Archangel, defending himself through what he called the longest fight of his life until his men arrived. He then chased Archangel across half of Omega but failed to capture him, an outcome that left him eager for another reckoning.

The alliance against Archangel#

As Archangel's campaign disrupted the Blood Pack's operations and cost Garm men and money, he entered into an alliance with two similarly aggrieved mercenary leaders, Tarak of the Blue Suns and Jaroth of Eclipse, to bring down the vigilante for good. Garm cared little for Archangel's principles, but the losses he was suffering were intolerable, and he vowed to be the one to personally kill the turian, citing his status as the only one of the mercenary bosses who had fought Archangel in single combat and lived. Beyond the immediate target, the three leaders conspired to use their combined resources to overthrow Omega's ruler, Aria T'Loak; Jaroth proposed the plan and Garm approved it.

With the vigilante trapped in his hideout and most of his team killed, Tarak's plan called for Garm to wait until the freelancers and Eclipse had done their part, an arrangement the impatient Battlemaster disliked. While he waited, he gruffly answered the questions of freelancers who wandered into the Blood Pack's quarters. To one young krogan among them, Garm wondered why he followed a human leader rather than learning from his own kind, declaring that krogan should teach their own how to live and die without fear and how to put that fear into their enemies; he accepted the freelancer's reply that his leader did that and more.

Death#

When the freelancers and Eclipse forces were defeated, Garm and the Blood Pack launched their own assault on Archangel's hideout, breaching through the basement and fighting their way into the living room. Ordering his men to tear their enemies apart and cover him, Garm went straight upstairs for Archangel, but the attempt cost him his life and the lives of his cohorts. Shortly before his death he had been contacted by fellow Blood Pack leader Kalusk, who requested extra men for a mining operation on Tarith, but the demands of the Archangel campaign had left Garm with no vorcha to spare.
