Taldarin was a protoss warrior who held the rank of praetor, an ancient figure who became the first of his people ever to be placed within a dragoon. A personal friend of the legendary Adun, he fought on across the centuries in his mechanical shell.
The first dragoon#
Taldarin was a personal friend of the protoss hero Adun. He was injured in action long ago and survived only by being placed within a stasis cell. When dragoon technology was invented, he was the first warrior to be freed from stasis and placed within one of the new shells, so that he could continue to battle the enemies of the protoss. He fought alongside Jim Raynor on several occasions; Raynor knew him only as an "old-timer."
The mission to Braxis#
During the war following the fall of Aiur, Taldarin was ordered by Artanis to lead a protoss force to the planet Braxis, there to aid Raynor in reaching the recently infested Alexei Stukov. The task was to administer an anti-zerg nanite solution that could cure his infestation. The combined force fought through Stukov's terran mercenaries and the broods of the cerebrate Kaloth, and along the way Taldarin discovered several captured protoss warriors. After reaching Stukov, Taldarin aided Raynor's medics as they injected the nanites, and the admiral began to stabilize. When the leaderless broods began to rampage, the survivors evacuated, and Artanis purified the planet.
Legacy#
During the End War, a Purifier construct modeled on Taldarin was created and fought alongside Talandar. The construct possessed the ability to inhabit the shell of a Purifier immortal, carrying the ancient warrior's combat legacy into a new age of the protoss.
