The Ouranos asteroid belt lay in the Helios Beta system, where it separated the inner planets of Troy, Pallas and Leonis from the outer planets of Virgon and Hera. The belt was noted for being dense and rich in metal and other minerals, which led the long-time rivals Leonis and Virgon to mine it extensively. Because each side once considered the belt to mark its borders, Ouranos became the scene of many skirmishes.
