Gahlok
Water-element Bohrok swarms that flooded Mata Nui's aquatic zones with relentless purpose.

The Water Workers#
Gahlok weren't unique as individuals. Like all BohrokBohrokHive-minded mechanical creatures designed to reshape worlds, the Bohrok represent a threat the Toa Mata never expected., they were controlled by KranaKranaThe small organic symbiotes that controlled the Bohrok, produced in eight breeds plus a mutated variant, and the actual living component of every swarm-class chassis., simple automatons serving the will of the BahragBahragCahdok and Gahdok were the twin queens of the Bohrok, sealed in a Protodermis cage by the Toa Mata and later released to finish their cleansing of Mata Nui.. Their evasive tactics in water made them nearly impossible to corner without preparation. As workers and soldiers both, they operated with a singular purpose: the systematic deconstruction of the island itself.
Combat and Powers#
Each Gahlok carried a Water ShieldWater ShieldPaired water-absorbing shields used by Gahlok Bohrok for reshaping Mata Nui and combat operations against the Toa., a tool that functioned as both defense and weapon. They could channel and manipulate water with precision, making them lethal in aquatic environments. The ToaThe Toa: Heroes of the Matoran UniverseThe Toa were biomechanical guardians sworn to protect the Matoran, bound by a strict code and defined by sacrifice across every age of the universe. Mata learned this quickly during their initial encounters. What looked like a simple creature in isolation became overwhelming when dozens moved in coordinated patterns, flooding defenses and surrounding opponents before they could adapt.
Their primary weakness was environment-dependent. Dry ground limited their effectiveness significantly. The region once fell under the domain of Teridax, though that connection did not endure. Ga-Wahi no longer existed in later records.'s waterlogged terrain, that weakness rarely mattered.
