Ga-Wahi

Ga-Wahi was a region situated to the east on the island of Mata Nui, inhabited by Ga-Matoran and various Rahi. The region once fell under the domain of Teridax, though that connection did not endure. Ga-Wahi no longer existed in later records.

The region centered on Ga-Koro, the Ga-Matoran settlement, which was linked to the Ga-Wahi beach by the Ga-Koro Bridge. The bridge's gate was opened by a stone balance and stood guarded by Ga-Koro guards. Within the region also lay the Great Temple and the East Garden, where Ga-Matoran gathered Harakeke plants and Cowrie Shells to make flax. The job of Flax Gatherer belonged to HahliHahliA Ga-Matoran scholar who rose to become Chronicler of Mata Nui, then Toa Inika, then Toa Mahri of Water during the final crises of the Matoran Universe. until she became the next Chronicler.

Ga-Wahi was patrolled and defended by the Ga-Koro Defense Force, a body of the Mata Nui Military commanded by Hahli and Macku. The force ranged across the region in green motorized boats, carrying Bamboo Poles and Bamboo Disks as weapons, with Kolhii Sticks used on occasion.

Many aquatic RahiRahiThe Rahi were the biomechanical wildlife of the Matoran Universe, built largely by the Brotherhood of Makuta, ranging from background fauna to engineered war beasts. lived in Ga-Wahi, among them Dermis Turtles, Hoi, TarakavaTarakavaHuge lizard-like Rahi with powerful forelegs, hunted in pairs across Mata Nui and Metru Nui., Takea, Ruki Fish, Keras, Lightfish, Razorfish, Razor Whales, Cave Fish, GadunkaGadunka (Species)Finger-sized sea Rahi from the abyssal zones around the Pit, one of which was mutated to enormous size by exposure to the Mask of Life., Makuta Fish, Proto Drakes, Waikiru, and at least one Great Temple Squid. When the Bohrok swarms were released to cleanse the island, structures such as the Ga-Koro Bridge and the East Garden were destroyed.
