Ikir

Ikir is an Elemental Creature of fire from Okoto, distinguished by its orange and gold coloring. It serves as protector of the Region of Fire and as an ally to the Toa, wielding claws and crystal blades in fulfillment of those duties.

Ikir is the Creature of Fire, the embodiment of the element of Fire itself on the island of OkotoOkotoOkoto is a world whose known inhabitants include the Toa, the Mask makers, and the Protectors.. Millennia ago, when Okoto was first created, Ikir and the other Elemental Creatures were brought into being from the island's elements, each one the physical embodiment of its own element.

The Protectors of Okoto undertook a journey to obtain Elemental Crystals from the Creatures in order to power the Golden Masks that the ToaToa (2001)Biomechanical heroes bonded to elemental powers and masks. Not born, but chosen and transformed. would later wear. Mamuk received his crystal from Ikir, the contribution of fire to the masks that would arm Okoto's heroes.

Ikir guarded the Golden Mask of Fire and tested those who would claim it. TahuTahu, Toa of FireTahu served as Toa Mata, Toa Nuva, and Toa Mistika of Fire, leading his team from the first landing on Mata Nui to the destruction of the Rahkshi army on Bara Magna. battled the great Elemental Creature for hours seeking the mask, unaware that he was being followed by a Shadow Trap sent by Umarak the Hunter. When the Shadow Trap attacked Tahu, Ikir set aside its quarrel with the Toa and moved to rescue him. The Creature then led Tahu to the Golden Mask of Fire; Tahu donned the mask, united with Ikir, and issued a challenge to Umarak.
