Ta-Koro Gate
Ta-Koro's gate was built to hold, but nothing could stop three separate waves of destruction.
Ta-KoroKoroThe Koros were the six elemental villages established by the Toa Metru on Mata Nui after the Great Rescue, each tied to one element and one Turaga.'s gate was never going to save the village. Two guards held it at the entrance to the fiery settlement, protecting the only ground access through a retractable bridge made of stone pillars that could extend or collapse at will. It was a smart defensive design for a community built in the crater of Mata NuiMata Nui (Location)An island created by accident on the Great Spirit's face, home to the Matoran for a thousand years.'s fire region. But good design and dedicated defenders weren't enough when three separate crises hit Ta-KoroKoroThe Koros were the six elemental villages established by the Toa Metru on Mata Nui after the Great Rescue, each tied to one element and one Turaga. in quick succession during the early years of the Toa's presence on the island.

The retractable bridge system gave the village control over who and what crossed into their territory. The mechanism was elegant in its simplicity. With two guards always posted and stone pillars that could collapse at command, it felt secure enough. The gate's first test came against an enemy that saw fortifications as inconveniences to be swept aside.
