Toa of Sonics
They're rarer than other Toa, and the reason reveals a dark joke built into Bionicle itself.

JerbrazJerbrazJerbraz is an invisible member of the Order of Mata Nui. He is based on Spherus Magna and carries an Invisible Sword as his tool. once noted something grim about Toa of Sonics in Brothers in Arms: the reason they're rarely encountered is that they are vulnerable to their own power, a limitation apparently built in by the Great Beings as something of a cosmic joke. That paradox sits at the heart of this rare warrior class. Toa of Sonics are Toa who've wielded the Element of Sonics, commanding sound itself as their weapon and defense. They're uncommon for good reason.
What They Are#
Toa of Sonics are MatoranMatoranThe most abundant species in the Matoran Universe, chosen by Mata Nui to inhabit and maintain his cosmic body. who've been transformed into the Toa hero class and granted the power to wield Sonics (one of the fundamental elements of the MatoranMatoranThe most abundant species in the Matoran Universe, chosen by Mata Nui to inhabit and maintain his cosmic body. The Built-In Limitation#
The defining paradox of a Toa of Sonics is their vulnerability to their own power. Sonic energy is inherently difficult to contain and control. Their own elemental attacks rebound on them as easily as they reach enemies. This fundamental limitation was apparently a deliberate choice by the Great Beings. Losing a KanohiKanohiMasks that grant powers and sustain life, they're the most vital artifact in the Matoran Universe. compounds the problem, halving their elemental strength entirely.
