Panam Palmer: the Aldecaldo Who Wouldn't Follow Orders

Panam Palmer is the hot-headed Aldecaldos nomad who helps V catch Anders Hellman and later offers the whole clan for the raid on Arasaka. This covers her story, the Basilisk, the romance and what the Star ending means for her.

By Joe Garratt

Panam Palmer is a nomad of the Aldecaldos clan in Cyberpunk 2077, a fierce, stubborn driver and fighter who helps V capture the Relic's designer and later offers her whole family to help V break into Arasaka Tower. She's in the main story through Act 2 and has her own run of side jobs after it. A V with a masculine body can romance her, and finishing her story is the only way to the Star ending, the one where V leaves Night City with the clan. (Cyberpunk 2077)

Who Panam is: the Aldecaldos and Saul#

Panam grew up in the Aldecaldos, a nomad family that moves its whole life by convoy. As a child she saw a friend taken by the Raffen Shiv, rival nomads who raid and kill, and she has hated them since. She grew close to Mitch Anderson and Driss "Scorpion" Meriana and looked up to the clan's leader, Saul Bright. (Cyberpunk 2077)

When the clan camped in the Badlands outside Night City, she and Saul clashed over his plan to sign a deal with Biotechnica. Panam thought working for a corporation would kill what the Aldecaldos were. She left, and by 2077 was doing jobs in the city through the fixer Rogue Amendiares. (Cyberpunk 2077)

Hellman and the Kang Tao convoy#

Panam's first meeting with V comes through Rogue. A client called Nash had double-crossed Panam, stealing her cargo and her car, and V helped her ambush the Raffen Shiv to get them back. In return, Panam helped V find Anders Hellman, the Arasaka scientist who designed the Relic, who was being flown across the Badlands by Kang Tao. (Cyberpunk 2077, "Ghost Town")

The two turned a solar power plant into an EMP to bring down the convoy, and Panam finished it with a rocket launcher. Mitch and Scorpion rushed the wreck too early. Scorpion was killed, which hit Panam hard. V can stay and help save Mitch, or leave her to it and grab Hellman alone, which Panam doesn't forget. Either way, Hellman was captured. (Cyberpunk 2077, "Lightning Breaks"; "Life During Wartime")

Back with the clan: Saul and the Basilisk#

When Saul vanished on a trip, Panam came back to the Aldecaldos and found the Raffen Shiv's Wraiths had taken him. The clan's stand-in leader didn't want to risk a rescue, so Panam asked V. The two pulled Saul out and lost their pursuers in a sandstorm. He let her back into the clan, but the argument didn't end. (Cyberpunk 2077, "Riders on the Storm")

Panam then spotted a lightly guarded Militech convoy carrying a Basilisk, a hover tank. Saul forbade an attack. Panam went ahead with Mitch, Carol Emeka and V. (Cyberpunk 2077, "With a Little Help from My Friends")

  • Tell Saul. If V goes to Saul instead, Panam finds out, cuts V off and her story ends there. Saul pays V and later leaves a parting gift at the Sunset Motel. (Cyberpunk 2077, "With a Little Help from My Friends")
  • Join Panam. The raid goes ahead, and the clan rebuilds the tank. (Cyberpunk 2077, "With a Little Help from My Friends")

Next day, Panam and V took the Basilisk out, linked into its controls together. When the Raffen Shiv attacked the camp, they used it to drive them off. Saul admitted he had been wrong about her and made her co-leader of the clan. (Cyberpunk 2077, "Queen of the Highway")

The romance#

A V with the masculine body type can flirt with Panam from early on, starting with the one-room question at the Sunset Motel. Panam isn't good at talking about feelings, and she says as much. The romance comes together in "Queen of the Highway", in the tank, if V keeps showing interest. A V who doesn't fit can still finish all her side jobs as a friend. (Cyberpunk 2077, "Ghost Town"; "Queen of the Highway")

Panam in each ending#

On the rooftop in "Nocturne Op55N1", V can call on Panam's offer. Johnny warns that her people's lives will be on V's conscience. (Cyberpunk 2077, "Nocturne Op55N1")

  • The Star. The Aldecaldos tunnel under Arasaka Tower with a boring machine and get V to Mikoshi. If V keeps the body, V joins the clan and leaves Night City with them, heading for Tucson. If romanced, Panam is with V for the road. (Cyberpunk 2077, "All Along the Watchtower")
  • The Sun. If romanced, she's in V's penthouse, can't understand why V won't leave, and goes with the clan. (Cyberpunk 2077, "Path of Glory")
  • The Devil. If V calls from the Arasaka orbital station, she's furious V didn't ask her instead, and wants V home. (Cyberpunk 2077, "Where is My Mind?")
  • Temperance. If romanced, her credits message threatens to hunt Johnny down and rip V out of his head. (Cyberpunk 2077, "New Dawn Fades")

In Phantom Liberty's Tower ending, V wakes from a two-year coma and calls Panam, who doesn't pick up. Mitch later sends word that she doesn't want to talk, and any romance is over. (Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty)

Frequently asked questions

Can female V romance Panam?
No. Panam's romance needs V to have the masculine body type. A V without it can still finish her whole story as a close friend and get the Star ending.
How do you get the Star ending with Panam?
Finish her side jobs up to and including "Queen of the Highway", then choose to call Panam for help on the rooftop in "Nocturne Op55N1". The Aldecaldos then lead the attack on Arasaka Tower.
What happens if you tell Saul about Panam's plan?
Panam finds out, cuts V off for good and her story ends. Saul pays V and leaves a parting gift at the Sunset Motel, but the Star ending is gone.
Does Panam become leader of the Aldecaldos?
After the Basilisk raid and the fight with the Raffen Shiv, Saul Bright makes her co-leader of the clan alongside him.
