Rogue Amendiares: Queen of the Afterlife and Johnny Silverhand's Ex
Rogue Amendiares is Night City's top fixer in 2077 and one of the last legends of Johnny Silverhand's era. Here's her history from the tabletop games to the Afterlife, her past with Johnny and Adam Smasher, and how she can die in Cyberpunk 2077.
Rogue Amendiares is the fixer who runs the Afterlife and, through it, most of the merc work in Night City by 2077. Before that she was one of the best solos of the 2010s and Johnny Silverhand's on-and-off partner, and she survived both of his raids on Arasaka. She's one of the few characters who goes all the way from the first tabletop edition to Cyberpunk 2077. (Cyberpunk 2020; Cyberpunk 2077)
Who is Rogue?#
Rogue was a solo, a gun for hire who worked alone rather than for a gang. The short story "Never Fade Away," printed in the Cyberpunk 2020 rulebook, puts her in 2013 working with her partner Nomad Santiago when Johnny walks in and asks for help getting Alt back from Arasaka. She still resents him and agrees anyway, mostly for the chance to hurt a corporation. The raid gets them in, but Alt is lost to Soulkiller. (Cyberpunk 2020)
The Firestorm sourcebooks add that Rogue later had a short, quiet relationship with Morgan Blackhand, and give her stats as one of the top shooters of the era. (Firestorm: Shockwave)
Rogue and Johnny Silverhand#
Rogue and Johnny were together on and off for years, and Cyberpunk 2077 shows how badly it ended through Johnny's memories and Rogue's own comments. He cheated, she never quite forgave him, and fifty years later she still knows exactly which buttons he pushes. She also has a son, whom she calls before the last assault on Arasaka Tower, though the game never says who the father is. (Cyberpunk 2077)
She was also with Johnny on 20 August 2023, in the Militech-backed raid on Arasaka Tower during the Fourth Corporate War. In the tabletop account, the operation was run under Morgan Blackhand and brought the nuke that destroyed the tower. Smasher ambushed Johnny's team and killed him, and Rogue stopped the netrunner Spider Murphy from going back for his body. The survivors escaped by AV off the roof just before the blast. (Cyberpunk RED)
Cyberpunk 2077 tells it through Johnny's memories instead: Johnny arms the bomb himself, Rogue gets away in the AV, and Johnny is captured and put through Soulkiller. Our Arasaka Tower 2023 page compares the two. (Cyberpunk 2077)
How did Rogue become a fixer?#
Cyberpunk RED says a car crash left Rogue with internal damage even cyberware couldn't fully fix, so she stepped back from solo work and became a fixer, the middle person who connects clients with mercs. She also started running the Afterlife, the bar where Night City's mercs drink and do business. (Cyberpunk RED)
By 2077 she's the "Queen of the Afterlife." Every serious job in the city needs her nod, and she has a team around her: Nix as netrunner, Weyland as her bodyguard, Claire behind the bar. (Cyberpunk 2077)
She also has a brief cameo in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, at the Afterlife when David and his crew drink there. (Cyberpunk: Edgerunners)
What does Rogue do in Cyberpunk 2077?#
Rogue first refuses Goro Takemura, because he's the man accused of killing Saburo Arasaka. When V comes looking for Anders Hellman, she charges 15,000 eddies for the lead and pairs V with Panam Palmer, a nomad she'd recently left in the lurch. (Cyberpunk 2077)
If V lets Johnny take over their body in the side job "Chippin' In," Johnny visits Rogue as himself and convinces her it's really him. They track Smasher's lieutenant Grayson to the container ship Ebunike, where Grayson hints that Rogue once worked with Smasher before she pistol-whips him quiet. V can then set up a date between Rogue and Johnny at the drive-in she always wanted him to take her to. She kisses him, then stops, telling him too much has changed. (Cyberpunk 2077)
How does Rogue die?#
Rogue only dies on one path. If V lets Johnny go to Rogue for help in "Nocturne Op55N1," she plans the assault on Arasaka Tower with Weyland. Before it starts she admits to Johnny that she worked with Smasher and regrets it. Near the Mikoshi access point Smasher ambushes them and grabs her, and she plants a grenade on him. The blast kills her, and Johnny takes over the fight. All that's left of her is her pistol, Pride. If Johnny keeps V's body at the end, he leaves the gun in her niche at the columbarium before leaving the city. (Cyberpunk 2077)
In other endings Rogue survives. If V does the solo run on the tower and keeps their body, Rogue hands over the Afterlife to V. If Johnny ends up with V's body after the Aldecaldo run, she leaves him a furious message telling him never to come back. (Cyberpunk 2077)
Frequently asked questions
- Who is Rogue in Cyberpunk 2077?

- Yes, by not taking her into Arasaka Tower. She only dies if V lets Johnny lead the attack with Rogue in Nocturne Op55N1. In every other ending she survives.

- Not that the game confirms. Rogue has a son, whom she calls before the Arasaka Tower assault, but Cyberpunk 2077 never says who his father is.
