Skorpius was the Queen of the Scorpions, a monstrous scorpion that dwelt deep within the Labyrinth beneath Mount Olympus. Her shell was hardened with onyx, and Kratos faced her amid the shifting cubes of the Labyrinth as he climbed toward his reckoning with Zeus.
Queen of the Scorpions#
Skorpius dwelt in the caverns of the Labyrinth far below Mount Olympus, a scorpion grown to monstrous size and named the queen of her kind. Onyx crystals were fused into parts of her exoskeleton, a natural armor so hard that it could be shattered only by the Nemean Cestus or the Blade of Olympus. She fought with her great pincers, seizing and hurling her foe, and with her sting, slamming it into the earth to raise spikes of ice. About her swarmed her brood, the Skorpius Spawns, pale creatures that resembled small versions of their queen but bore none of her onyx armor.
The battle in the Labyrinth#
Kratos met Skorpius upon one of the shifting cubes of the Labyrinth and fought her there as her Spawns boiled up to defend her. To bring her down he shattered the onyx crystals around three of her legs, crippling her so that she fell to the ground, then struck at her head and tore one of her teeth loose. He repeated this work upon the three remaining armored legs to cripple her a second time, then drove his fist into her back so that both of them fell from the cube. After a brief struggle in the air, Skorpius landed upon another cube with Kratos upon her back. He seized her own stinger and pulled it straight through her head, and as her venom crystallized her, he destroyed her frozen remains to claim Boreas' Icestorm from within.
