Lady Dimitrescu: Who Alcina Dimitrescu Is, How Tall She Is and How She Dies
Lady Alcina Dimitrescu is the giant, blood-drinking countess of Resident Evil Village, one of Mother Miranda's four Lords. Here is where she came from, what the Cadou did to her, her three daughters, how Ethan kills her, and the official answer on her height.
Lady Alcina Dimitrescu is the towering countess of Castle Dimitrescu in Resident Evil Village, one of the four Lords who serve Mother Miranda. She's a mutant noblewoman who drinks human blood, stalks Ethan Winters through her castle, and became the face of the game before it even came out. (Resident Evil Village)
How tall is Lady Dimitrescu?#
Capcom's answer is 9 feet 6 inches, or 2.9 metres, and that includes her hat and her heels. The figure came from Resident Evil Village's art director, Tomonori Takano, in a statement the official Resident Evil account posted on 1 February 2021, three months before the game came out. (Resident Evil official account on X (Twitter))
The game itself never gives a number. It does give a reason for the size: Miranda's notes say her new regenerative body made her grow far beyond human proportions, and that it could get out of hand if not watched. (Resident Evil Village)
Who is Lady Dimitrescu?#
Alcina is a Dimitrescu, a noble family whose line goes back to one of the founders of the village. She carried a hereditary blood disease. Decades before Ethan arrived, Miranda lured her to a crypt under the village cemetery and implanted her with a Cadou, a nematode parasite Miranda had altered with the Mold. (Resident Evil Village)
Miranda was looking for a body that could host the consciousness of her dead daughter, Eva. Alcina wasn't it. The Cadou gave her retractable claws, healing and an end to ageing, but the blood disease stayed, so she had to keep drinking fresh human blood. Miranda filed her as a failure. (Resident Evil Village)
Life as a Lord#
Miranda still let her take Castle Dimitrescu and made her one of the four Lords alongside Karl Heisenberg, Donna Beneviento and Salvatore Moreau. Alcina thought of herself as second only to Mother Miranda, loathed Heisenberg, and resented that Miranda treated her no better than the rest. (Resident Evil Village)
She ran her family's vineyard and wine business, and her castle on fresh staff. Maids were taken to the dungeon, drained, and their blood mixed with grapes for the family wine, Sanguis Virginis. Many of the women became the castle's Moroaică, and the men ended up as scarecrows in the vineyard. One villager once stole the Dagger of Death's Flowers, a family blade soaked in poisons, and tried to kill her with it. He failed, and was buried with it in a tower crypt. (Resident Evil Village)
The Maiden demo shows the castle from a captured maid's point of view, with Lady Dimitrescu and her daughters as the threat. (Resident Evil Village: Maiden)
Bela, Cassandra and Daniela#
Her daughters came from an experiment Miranda started and Alcina watched over. Three women's bodies were implanted with Cadou, which produced swarms of flies that ate the corpses and then took on the women's shapes. Alcina named them Bela, Cassandra and Daniela and raised them as her own. Like her, they lived on blood and didn't age. Unlike her, they couldn't stand cold, so they never left the castle. (Resident Evil Village)
Ethan in the castle (Resident Evil Village, 2021)#
When Miranda took Rose Winters, each Lord was given a flask holding part of the baby. Alcina got the head. At the Lords' meeting she asked to have Ethan for her daughters to play with, but Miranda gave him to Heisenberg instead. (Resident Evil Village)
Ethan escaped and came to the castle looking for Rose. The daughters hung him from hooks, and he tore free. He killed Bela after a broken window let in the cold, then Cassandra and Daniela the same way. Miranda ordered Alcina to keep Ethan alive for her ceremony. Alcina decided to kill him anyway, smashed him through her bedroom floor, and chased him through the basement, slicing off one of his hands. (Resident Evil Village)
How does Lady Dimitrescu die?#
Ethan found the Dagger of Death's Flowers in the tower crypt. Alcina caught him there and drove her claws into him, and he stabbed her with the dagger. The poison made the Cadou run wild, and she turned into a huge, pale, winged creature. They fought across the castle roof. As she calcified she tried to drag him down from a tower, and they both fell. Ethan got up. She cursed him and crumbled. (Resident Evil Village)
With her daughters already dead, that ended the Dimitrescu line. Ethan took the flask with Rose's head and moved on to the next Lord. (Resident Evil Village)
