AEON in Signalis: the Organisation That Runs S-23 Sierpinski
AEON is the Eusan Nation body that relocates workers, runs facilities like S-23 Sierpinski and stands behind the Protektors. The game never explains it in one place, so this page sticks to what its documents actually say.
AEON is the organisation of the Eusan Nation that runs S-23 Sierpinski and facilities like it. The game's documents show it relocating Gestalt workers, issuing orders to facility staff, choosing the citizens whose minds become Replika templates, and standing behind the Protektor security forces. Its headquarters is on Heimat. Signalis never explains AEON in one document, so everything below is pieced together from what the game prints. (Signalis)
What is AEON?#
The game never defines it, but every document that mentions AEON shows it doing the state's work on people. It moves them, puts them to work, re-educates them, polices them and, in some cases, turns them into templates for Replikas. Where the Nation is the state, AEON is the part of it the player actually meets. (Signalis)
None of the game's documents we checked expand the name. Explanations of what the letters stand for circulate among players, but we couldn't trace one to the game's own text, so this page doesn't give one. (Signalis)
Relocation and Sierpinski#
The leaflet "Welcome to S-23 Sierpinski" is AEON's sales pitch. It tells new arrivals they "have been selected or have elected to be relocated by AEON" to a facility "located on Leng, at the frontier of the solar system", calls it "the perfect place for a new beginning", and describes a vocational school where they will learn mineral extraction, ore refinement and munition production for the war against the remnants of the Empire. "AEON lets you earn your share while practicing your new craft right at the workplace!" it adds. (Signalis, "Welcome to S-23 Sierpinski")
What it describes is a labour camp. Sierpinski's staff are almost all Replikas: Falke in command, Adler as administrator, Storch controllers, STAR guards and Kolibri specialists. When the sickness spread, the controller Storch Sieben wrote that the staff would have to hold on "until an effective treatment is found, or reinforcements are sent from Heimat". (Signalis)
Orders and language#
AEON reaches into words as well. A memorandum at Sierpinski opens "I announce the following, by order of AEON", and bans a term, blacked out in the document, under "new AEON Public Interest Media Regulation AGM-87". Using it becomes an offence punished with two cycles of double shifts. The memo closes with a slogan: "Our language shapes our world; a perfect world requires a perfect language." (Signalis, "Memorandum: Terminology")
AEON and Replikas#
The Stolen Document, a classified paper for Replika technicians found in Rotfront, explains where Replikas come from: "Carefully selected by AEON, exemplary citizens of the nation are permanently cryogenically preserved in Neural Archives, each becoming a neural pattern for a new Replika Model." The original Gestalt is then erased "from records and public memory" so the Replika can stand as an incorruptible ideal. The copying itself relies on bioresonance. (Signalis, "Stolen Document")
The Falke overview fixes the chain of command. The Protektor Führungskommando's commander, "the head of each AEON facility's Protektor force", is a bioresonant Falke unit, "an authority that may never be questioned". (Signalis, "Replika Overview: FKLR")
AEON on Rotfront#
AEON's reach isn't limited to camps. In Rotfront's Sektor C, an email to the block warden, herself a Kolibri, warns of an imperial spy in the area and says a Protektor special operations unit has been sent from AEON headquarters on Heimat. One of the district's safes even opens with the code AEON. (Signalis)
What the game doesn't say#
Signalis never names AEON's leader, never shows Heimat, and never explains how AEON relates to the Penrose Program or the army. Comparisons to real ministries and camps come from players, drawn from the German names and the look of the posters; the game makes no such claim. For the bigger picture, see the Eusan Nation and the Signalis timeline. (Signalis)

- The game documents we checked use only the name AEON and never spell it out. Expansions you see online could not be traced to the game's own text, so we leave them out.
- Is Sierpinski an AEON facility?
- Yes. The welcome leaflet says new arrivals "have been selected or have elected to be relocated by AEON" to S-23 Sierpinski, and the Falke overview describes the Falke as head of each AEON facility's Protektor force.
- Who runs AEON?
- The game never names a leader of AEON. It only shows its orders, its facilities and its headquarters on Heimat, and the Nation as a whole is led by the Great Revolutionary and her Daughter.

The Eusan Empire: the Fallen Empire of Signalis
The Empire of Eusan is the older power the Nation rebelled against, founded by a Grand Empress whose bioresonance is said to have united humanity and given life to the first Replikas. You never visit it in Signalis, but banned books, dreams and posters sketch it in.
The Eusan Nation: the Totalitarian State of Signalis
The Eusan Nation is the revolutionary state that rules most of the Signalis solar system, runs on Replika labour and bioresonance, and is at war with the Empire it broke away from. Here is what the game's posters, files and banned books tell us about it.
Adler: the Administrator Who Remembers the Loop
Adler is the ADLR administrator of S-23 Sierpinski, the Replika who throws Elster down a lift shaft and later blocks her at the red gate. His diaries show a bored bureaucrat slowly realising that the same days keep repeating, and that Elster has been here before.
Bioresonance in Signalis: the Power Behind Replikas, Falke and Kolibri
Bioresonance is the mind's ability to change the physical world, and in Signalis it runs everything from Replika production to the Falke commanders. Here is what the game's documents actually say about it, and where the popular theories about Ariane begin.
Falke: the Commander Who Looked Beyond the Red Gate
Falke is the FKLR unit who commanded the Protektors of S-23 Sierpinski and the final boss of Signalis. She crossed the red gate in the mines, came back sick, and was slowly overwritten by Elster's memories until she could no longer tell the two of them apart.
Kolibri: the Psychic Hive-Mind Replikas of Signalis
Kolibri units are small, highly bioresonant Replikas who serve as adjutants to a Falke commander and share their thoughts as a cadre. At S-23 Sierpinski almost all of them have gone wrong, and the one who hasn't is hiding alone in the library.

Rotfront: Ariane's Home Moon in Signalis
Rotfront is the ice moon where Ariane Yeong, Isa and Erika grew up, and the setting of the last chapter of Signalis. Elster walks through a dark, dreamlike copy of its Sektor C, full of Ariane's past.
S-23 Sierpinski: the AEON Labour Facility on Leng
S-23 Sierpinski is the AEON re-education and mining facility on Leng where most of Signalis takes place. By the time Elster arrives its workers are dead, its Replikas have turned, and the same days seem to be repeating.
