Frequently asked questions

Who is Brander in Bionicle?
Brander was a Ta-Matoran native to Metru Nui, a Crafter by trade who worked at the main forge in Ta-Metru alongside the mask-maker Nuhrii. He later served on the Ta-Koro Guard on the island of Mata Nui.
How did Brander help Vakama during the Great Disk hunt?
When Vakama, newly transformed into a Toa Metru, arrived at the forge looking for Nuhrii, Brander did not initially believe the claim and set him a test only an experienced mask-maker would pass. After Vakama identified a flawless mask, Brander explained that Nuhrii had sent a flawed plaque mask to the Great Furnace to be melted, placing Vakama on Nuhrii's trail.
What happened to Brander during the Great Cataclysm?
Brander was summoned to the Coliseum by the false Turaga Dume, placed in a Matoran Sphere, and taken under the structure. The Toa Metru recovered the spheres and carried them to the surface of Mata Nui, where they expended their Toa Power to awaken the population, and Brander awoke as a shorter, weaker Mata Nui Matoran with no usable memory of his earlier life.
What did Brander do on the Ta-Koro Guard?
Brander enlisted in the Ta-Koro Guard, the fire-tribe militia under Captain Jaller, equipped with a spear and bamboo throwing disks to maintain the fortress wall inside Mangai Volcano. After the Bohrok-Kal were defeated he was rebuilt into a taller, stronger form at the Naming Day ceremony at Kini-Nui, and his service ended when Lerahk's poison sank Ta-Koro into the lava during the Rahkshi assault.
Where did Brander end up after the death of Teridax?
After the Battle of Bara Magna and the death of Teridax, Brander evacuated the damaged Great Spirit Robot and resettled on the reformed Spherus Magna. He integrated with the local Fire Tribe and took up residence inside the Great Volcano, the last recorded location of his life.
