When the Mask of Life surfaced in Mahri NuiMahri NuiA matoran settlement that sank, survived, and was ultimately crushed beneath Voya Nui, leaving behind one of Bionicle's most poignant lost civilizations., Ehlek and the Barraki launched a coordinated assault to claim it. Despite their combined strength, the Barraki's assault failed. In Comic 7: Mask of Life, Mask of Doom, Ehlek declared that any force attempting to stand against them would be destroyed, yet the Mask of Life's own defenses turned the tables on his entire faction.
