They're one-shot weapons. After performing one, a Toa's elemental reserves are completely depleted until they recharge, sometimes taking hours or days.

The Ultimate Strike#

A Nova Blast is deceptively simple in concept: a Toa gathers every trace of elemental energy they possess and detonates it all at once in a single overwhelming explosion. The power is immense. The destruction potential is so high that most Toa treat it as a weapon of last resort. GaliGali, Toa of WaterThe Toa Nuva of Water and conscience of the Toa Mata, whose attunement to her element anchored the team across every campaign from Mata Nui to Karda Nui. Nuva described the experience as terrifying: "I am merging it together, bending it to my will, preparing to release all my elemental power in one single explosion of force." She added, "I hope to the Great Beings I never will again," reflecting the toll the attack takes on both enemies and the user.

Once a Toa performs a Nova Blast, their elemental reserves are completely depleted. This means no fire, no water, no lightning. Nothing until recharge. Recharge times vary, sometimes taking hours, sometimes days. That vulnerability window makes the attack genuinely risky even when it connects.

Who Can Perform Nova Blasts#

Not every Toa-like being can perform a Nova Blast. Regular Toa can, obviously. The rules apply differently when you're a god.
