Tuyet
A Toa of Water caught in the Order's machinations, Tuyet turned from peer-seeker to rebel-schemer.
The Toa Who Wanted More#
Tuyet stands among Bionicle's most tragic figures because she never actually needed to be a villain. In the early days of the Toa MangaiToa MangaiThe defenders of Metru Nui before the Toa Metru arrived, a team that fell to betrayal and relentless war., she was one of several Toa protecting Metru NuiMetru NuiThe city beneath Mata Nui functions as the Great Spirit's brain, housing the Matoran whose labor keeps the god alive. alongside LhikanLhikanToa of Fire, leader of the Toa Mangai, and the last Toa of Metru Nui, who surrendered his Toa Power to create the Toa Metru and died defending Vakama.. She had the power, the position, the purpose. What she lacked was acceptance. Her philosophy clashed with LhikanLhikanToa of Fire, leader of the Toa Mangai, and the last Toa of Metru Nui, who surrendered his Toa Power to create the Toa Metru and died defending Vakama.'s by-the-book heroism. Where he saw honor in restraint, she saw wasted potential. She questioned whether they could accomplish more good if they stopped worrying so much about who might get hurt in the process. The question still hangs there. We don't get to know if he had an answer.
At some point, Tuyet acquired a fragment of the Nui StoneNui StoneA red artifact that hunts Toa and drains their power within 3000 kio, sought by Tuyet in ancient Metru Nui to gain strength against enemies only she could see., a weapon capable of draining the powers of other Toa. They apprehended her, teleported her to another dimension where no Toa existed, and substituted a double in her place. That double eventually ended up imprisoned in the Pit. The original Tuyet spent 1500 years locked away, interrogated relentlessly about the Stone's secrets.
