The mission to Ulaan#

On the eve of the Second Great War, Karass led a Daelaam force in pursuit of the Queen of Blades, Sarah Kerrigan, to the world of Ulaan. There he met Dark Prelate Zeratul, who had come to the same place in search of an ancient prophecy. Karass placed himself and his soldiers at Zeratul's disposal, and together the two broke through the zerg patrols guarding the world to find the prophecy that both Zeratul and Kerrigan sought.

Sacrifice#

Shortly after the prophecy was found, Kerrigan attacked the outnumbered protoss. Recognizing that the knowledge they had recovered mattered more than their own survival, Karass instructed Zeratul to escape with it. The praetor and his troops then turned to fight, buying the dark templar the time he needed with their lives. Zeratul withdrew aboard the Void Seeker, reluctant to abandon his ally, and swore that Karass' sacrifice would not be in vain.
