Dekar
Dekar is a former Po-Matoran who serves as an Aqua Hunter on Spherus Magna. Colored yellow, black, and silver, he once wore a powerless Kiril and retains an inactive Stone element; his tools are Electro-Blades and an Air Launcher.

He came to the rescue of the Ga-Matoran sentry Kyrehx when she was attacked by animated air weeds near the Fields of Air, and she gave him the Kanohi mask she had found. The two parted ways, unaware that one of the BarrakiThe BarrakiSix warlords who built an empire spanning most of the Matoran Universe, fell in a single Brotherhood ambush, and spent millennia mutated in the Pit. warlord Kalmah's squids had spotted them with it.
Dekar discovered that the mask he carried was the Kanohi Ignika, the Great Mask of Life, and realized it would keep healing any being nearby that he attacked. Believing the mask too powerful for anyone to possess, he resolved to destroy it. He fled the pursuing Barraki and attempted to break the Ignika in a nearby cave, which caused the mask to create a guardian by enlarging an ordinary Venom Eel into a 300-foot monster.
The Barraki cornered Dekar and seized the mask. Pridak, Carapar and Ehlek attacked him, and Ehlek's shock forced the Po-Matoran to drop the Ignika. Dekar fled into the dark ocean, running out of his small store of air and nearly drowning.
As Dekar neared death, the Mask of Life acted to preserve a protector for itself. It transformed him into a duplicate of the long-dead Pit jailer HydraxonHydraxonThe jailer of the Pit was killed once, then resurrected as the Matoran Dekar by the Mask of Life., giving him the jailer's form, memories and purpose, while the original Dekar's mind lay dormant within. A trace of that buried consciousness later surfaced when Hydraxon, recognizing the danger of the Ignika, took aim at the mask with his Cordak blaster.
