Epimetheus was a Titan known as the God of Hindsight and Afterthought. Like the other Titans, he was defeated in the Great War and banished by Zeus to the depths of Tartarus, where he remained until the Titans rose once more against Olympus.
Titan of Hindsight#
Epimetheus held the domain of hindsight and afterthought among the Titans. He sided with Gaia and his fellow Titans against the gods, and when the Great War ended in their defeat, Zeus sent him down to Tartarus along with the rest of his kind. Unlike the older myths in which he and his brother turned to the gods, Epimetheus remained loyal to the Titans through to the end.
Death on Olympus#
When the Titans rose again and scaled Mount Olympus in their final war against the gods, Epimetheus climbed among them. The sea god Poseidon entered the battle and summoned his Hippocampi, which seized upon the ascending Titans and dragged them to their deaths. Epimetheus was thrown down and slain in the assault, perishing on the slopes of the mountain he had come to conquer.
