As at every shrine, the Protector held off the spiders while his Toa went for the mask. Gali fought her way through the horde, put on the Golden Mask of Water and burst up through the surface to take on the Lord of Skull Spiders. The pattern of inheritance#

The blaster is part of the Protectors' inheritance. Kivoda took on the role from his father, along with the Prophecy of Heroes his ancestors had learned from Ekimu, and the Protectors' gear has changed little across the generations. (Protector of Water character profile)

On the way, a gust of wind caught his turbines and nearly blew him off a ledge until Izotor saved him. When they found the Lord of Skull Spiders waking in his lair, the Protectors fired their Elemental Blasters at the ceiling, and Kivoda and Narmoto kept damaging it until it collapsed.
