Konpeki Plaza: the Arasaka Hotel Behind Cyberpunk 2077's Heist
Konpeki Plaza is the Arasaka-owned luxury hotel in Night City where V and Jackie steal the Relic in Cyberpunk 2077. Here's what the hotel is, how the heist works, and what goes wrong in the penthouse.
Konpeki Plaza is the luxury hotel in Night City where Cyberpunk 2077's prologue comes to a head. It belongs to an Arasaka-owned chain, sits on the Arasaka Waterfront in Watson, and in 2077 its penthouse holds Yorinobu Arasaka and the Relic. V and Jackie Welles break in to steal the chip, and walk straight into a murder. (Cyberpunk 2077)
What Konpeki Plaza is#
Konpeki is the city's top hotel and knows it. The game's database calls it Night City's most exclusive hotel, a place built for the elite, where global financiers stay on business and nobody blinks at rival corpos sharing a drink or a politician heading upstairs with a braindance star. (Cyberpunk 2077)
It's an Arasaka property, part of a chain of luxury hotels the corporation owns, and Arasaka handles the security. A corpo V can sniff that the Night City branch doesn't compare to the main hotel in Tokyo. The name fits too: konpeki is Japanese for a deep azure blue. (Cyberpunk 2077)
The hotel's own net page sells it as a mix of American largesse and Japanese minimalism, and its staff rules are strict: good looks, fluent English and Japanese plus at least two more languages, and full-body cyberware for every employee. (Cyberpunk 2077)
Why V and Jackie broke in#
The target was the Relic, an experimental Arasaka biochip that can hold a human mind, and Yorinobu had it in his penthouse suite. Evelyn Parker wanted it and hired the fixer Dexter DeShawn, who put together V, Jackie and the netrunner T-Bug. Behind Evelyn were the Voodoo Boys, though she meant to sell the chip to NetWatch instead. (Cyberpunk 2077)
The crew prepared carefully. V bought a stolen Militech Flathead bot from Maelstrom, and studied a braindance of Yorinobu's suite with Evelyn and Judy Alvarez. Dex briefed everyone at the Afterlife. (Cyberpunk 2077)
How the heist worked#
V and Jackie arrived by Delamain cab in suits, posing as Militech staff with business at the hotel. They went through the scanner, checked in with T-Bug ready to cover for them at reception, and took the elevator to their room on the 42nd floor. (Cyberpunk 2077)
From the room, the Flathead went into the vents. V steered it through the building, using T-Bug's camera feeds, until it reached the hotel's netrunner and gave T-Bug a way into Konpeki's systems. She needed hours to crack the security, so V and Jackie waited until night. (Cyberpunk 2077)
When T-Bug had control, she sent them up in an elevator straight to the penthouse. They found the Relic in its case. Then aerodynes started landing, and they had to hide behind a panel as Yorinobu came in with Adam Smasher. (Cyberpunk 2077)
Saburo Arasaka's murder#
What V and Jackie saw from hiding changed everything. Saburo Arasaka arrived with his bodyguard, Goro Takemura, and sent both bodyguards out. Father and son argued over the stolen Relic, and Yorinobu strangled his father. He then locked down the hotel and claimed Saburo had been poisoned. (Cyberpunk 2077)
The escape was a disaster. T-Bug opened the balcony doors for them and was killed by Arasaka netrunners a moment later. Saburo's aerodyne on the roof locked itself down, so V and Jackie fought their way down through the hotel, took an access token from an officer to use the elevator and crossed the lobby to the waiting Delamain. Smasher chased the cab with drones. (Cyberpunk 2077)
Jackie had been shot, and the Relic's case was damaged, so V slotted the chip into their own head to keep it alive. Jackie died in the back of the cab. At the No-Tell Motel, Dex shot V. The full aftermath is on Cyberpunk 2077's story explained. (Cyberpunk 2077)
Konpeki after the heist#
Konpeki Plaza is a one-night location. After The Heist, V never goes back, and the hotel stays off limits for the rest of the game. What happened inside, though, drives the whole story: Takemura was framed for the murder, Yorinobu took his father's place, and the Relic began overwriting V with Johnny Silverhand. (Cyberpunk 2077)
Hanako Arasaka only learns the truth when V and Takemura kidnap her and V tells her what they saw at Konpeki. (Cyberpunk 2077)
