Otheym
Fedaykin of Muad'Dib
Otheym was a renowned Fremen fighter and one of the first Fedaykin of Muad'Dib, a trainer in the Weirding Way who later served as a senior commander of the Jihad and revealed a conspiracy against the Atreides Emperor before his death.
Otheym was a renowned Fremen fighter and devoted follower of Paul Atreides. He helped train Fremen warriors in the Weirding Way, was among the first of the Fedaykin, and took part in the liberation of Arrakis from House Harkonnen.
Fedaykin of the Desert War#
Otheym came to Sietch Tabr to join the cause of Muad'Dib and became one of the first Fedaykin, the death commandos of Paul Atreides. He was a key trainer of Fremen fighters in the Weirding Way, the disciplined fighting art the Fremen learned from Paul and his mother Jessica. Among his duties was the gravest of contingencies: Otheym was the warrior tasked with carrying the Water of Life to a very large pre-spice mass, which if initiated would have set off a deadly chain reaction capable of destroying every vector of the sandworm.
Commander of the Jihad#
After the liberation of Arrakis, Otheym served as a senior commander in the spread of Muad'Dib's Jihad across the Known Universe, fighting in engagements such as the Battle of Tarahell. While campaigning he contracted the splitting disease and returned to Dune, settling among the veterans of the Jihad. A true Fremen and a friend to Muad'Dib to the end, he provided the Emperor with details on those plotting against the Atreides throne. He had one daughter, Lichna, with his wife Dhuri, and died in 10210 AG.
