Omega
the enhanced clone of Kamino
Omega was an enhanced human clone created from the genetic template of Jango Fett. Raised on Kamino, she joined the renegade squad Clone Force 99 and became a prime target of the Empire's cloning program.
Omega was an enhanced human female clone, created from the genetic template of the Mandalorian bounty hunter Jango Fett, who lived in the years following the Clone Wars. Originally created as a pure genetic replication of Fett, she worked as a medical assistant to the Kaminoan Chief Medical Scientist Nala Se in Tipoca City on the clone homeworld of Kamino.
Origins on Kamino#
Omega was created on Kamino as a pure genetic replication of Jango Fett, the template from which the Republic's clone army had been grown. She spent her early days in Tipoca City as a medical assistant to the Kaminoan Chief Medical Scientist Nala Se, and from there she observed the comings and goings of the clones, including the genetically mutated commandos Hunter, Wrecker, Tech, Echo, and Crosshair of Clone Force 99, the squad known as the Bad Batch.
Joining the Bad Batch#
When the Clone Wars ended in 19 BBY and the newly proclaimed Galactic Empire took control of Kamino, Clone Force 99 returned from the Battle of Kaller and rejected the Empire's new orders. Omega, who had recognized the squad and was determined to befriend them, joined Clone Force 99 and escaped Kamino, though Crosshair chose to remain behind and serve the regime. Welcomed aboard the squad's ship, the Marauder, she was given her own quarters and told that she was now part of the team. She quickly proved her worth in the field, wielding an energy bow and showing a sharp, resourceful instinct under pressure. The squad soon learned she was being hunted by the bounty hunter Fennec Shand, who had been hired to capture her, marking Omega as a target of greater interest than they first understood.
Hunted by the Empire#
Working out of Ord Mantell with the Trandoshan fixer Cid, the Batch took on mercenary jobs across the galaxy. On one such mission they aided the rebel pilot Hera Syndulla in protecting her family on Ryloth, an effort Omega urged the reluctant Hunter to support. The squad's troubles deepened when the Imperial researcher Doctor Royce Hemlock set out to capture Omega in order to force Nala Se into serving the Empire's Advanced Science Division project at Tantiss Base. During a disastrous mission to rescue Crosshair, Tech sacrificed himself to save the others, a loss that devastated Omega and the whole squad.
Mount Tantiss#
Betrayed by Cid, Omega was captured and taken to Mount Tantiss, where she met another clone named Emerie Karr and was forced to work as a lab assistant to Karr and Nala Se. Though Nala Se tried to protect her by destroying her blood samples, Omega's blood was found to carry an unusually high midi-chlorian count, making it critical to the Empire's Project Necromancer. With the Kaminoan's help she escaped, freeing Crosshair along the way and reuniting with the Batch on the island of Pabu. Pursued again because of her midi-chlorian levels, Omega surrendered herself to the assassin CX-2 to spare the people of Pabu and was returned to Tantiss, where Hemlock held other Force-sensitive children captive. As her brothers attacked the base to free her, Omega organized an escape of the children and imprisoned clones. She was briefly recaptured, but Hemlock was killed as Hunter and Crosshair rescued her.
After Tantiss#
Following the escape from Mount Tantiss, Omega and the rest of Clone Force 99 returned to Pabu, where they lived in peace for many years. In time, Omega set out to join the Alliance to Restore the Republic as a pilot, carrying the fight against the Empire into a new generation.
