The Atlantia was a Colonial battlestar that became the flagship of the Fleet during the Cylon surprise attack, when Admiral Nagala took personal command aboard her after the loss of Picon Fleet Headquarters. She was destroyed over Virgon, a victim of the Cylon backdoors in the Command Navigation Program.
The Atlantia was a battlestar serving in the Colonial Fleet in the years following the First Cylon War. When the Cylons launched their surprise attack against the Twelve Colonies, she survived the initial assault, and with the destruction of Picon Fleet Headquarters she became the flagship from which Admiral Nagala took personal command of the Fleet. The Atlantia served in the Colonial Fleet in the years between the First Cylon War and the Fall of the Twelve Colonies. Galen Tyrol served aboard her earlier in his career, before his posting to Galactica. The flagship of the final defence#
When the Cylons struck the Twelve Colonies, the Atlantia survived the initial assault. After Colonial Fleet Headquarters on Picon was destroyed in the first wave, Admiral Nagala took personal command of the Fleet aboard the Atlantia and led the attack against the Cylon forces, with the bulk of the fighting massing near Virgon. The Atlantia was soon reported destroyed over Virgon, and the same news listed other lost battlestars, including the Triton, the Solaria and the Columbia, as the Cylons used the backdoors they had planted in Gaius Baltar's Command Navigation Program to shut Colonial ships down. Class#
The Atlantia's class is never stated. She is only mentioned on screen, never shown, so nothing about her design is known.
