Frequently asked questions

What happened in BIONICLE 17: Disks of Danger?
The comic covered the central days of the Toa Metru's Great Kanoka Disk-recovery campaign, focusing on the Le-Metru recovery led by Matau and the Po-Metru recovery led by Onewa. Both operations succeeded and both exposed how thoroughly the Dark Hunter Nidhiki and his informant Ahkmou had pre-positioned the field against the new Toa.
How did Matau recover the Le-Metru Great Disk?
Acting on information from his old Ussal-rider rival Orkahm, Matau entered a Force Sphere in the Notch, where the disk had been hidden inside the imploding chute orb. He used his Air powers to keep breathable atmosphere and structural integrity inside the Sphere, retrieved the disk, and exited on the return arc moments before the Sphere collapsed in on itself.
How did Vakama defeat the rogue Tunneler?
Because a Tunneler could absorb any energy used against it, direct elemental attack was counterproductive. Vakama launched a Kanoka disk loaded with the power of Reconstitute at Random, which converted the Tunneler's entire body into glass on impact, immobilising the Rahi in place.
How did Onewa recover the Po-Metru Great Disk?
Onewa climbed the Mountain in Balance, an unstable sculpture whose base had been further undermined as a trap, recovering the disk from the top. The sculpture failed under his weight, and he rode the collapsing stone down by sheltering inside a small cavity that fell across him without crushing him, clearing the wreckage with the disk intact.
How was Ahkmou exposed as the traitor?
The trap at the Mountain in Balance had been pre-positioned, and Ahkmou was the only Po-Matoran with both the carving expertise and the advance knowledge of which structure the Toa would climb. Onewa suspected the cover story from the start but withheld the accusation until Ahkmou's later attempt to flee on the approach to the Great Furnace made the confrontation unavoidable.
