BIONICLE Adventures is the second series of BIONICLE books, ten titles written by Greg FarshteyGreg Farshtey: the writer who wrote almost all of BIONICLEGregory Todd Farshtey wrote nearly every book and comic of BIONICLE's original 2001 to 2010 run, joined LEGO as a magazine editor in 2000, and answered fan questions directly for well over a decade. between 2004 and 2005. It covers the Toa MetruToa Metru: Heroes of Metru NuiThe Toa Metru were the six Toa transformed from Matoran of Metru Nui by Toa Lhikan's Toa stones, who defeated the Morbuzakh, sealed Teridax after the Great Cataclysm, survived mutation into Toa Hordika, and carried the city's Matoran to the island of Mata Nui before becoming Turaga. a thousand years before the island storyline, during and immediately after the Great CataclysmThe Great CataclysmThe day Makuta Teridax put the Great Spirit to sleep, the Great Spirit Robot fell from the sky, Metru Nui flooded, and Voya Nui tore loose from the Southern Continent., and it is the printed source for most of what happened in Metru NuiMetru NuiThe city beneath Mata Nui functions as the Great Spirit's brain, housing the Matoran whose labor keeps the god alive..

What is the framing device?#

Every book is a story inside a story, which is unusual for a series aimed at this age and is the reason the run reads as one continuous account rather than ten separate outings. The introduction and epilogue of each title give a few pages to TuragaTuraga DumeThe Turaga of Metru Nui for sixteen thousand years, a former Toa of Fire who saved Lhikan's life and was abducted and impersonated by Teridax. VakamaVakamaA Ta-Metru maskmaker transformed into the Toa Metru of Fire, leader of his team through the Visorak war, and Turaga of Ta-Koro for a thousand years. retelling his adventures as a Toa to the Toa NuvaToa Mata and Toa NuvaSix biomechanical heroes created by the Great Beings to awaken Mata Nui and defeat the Brotherhood, transformed once and tested across an entire age..

Two books break the pattern. In Voyage of Fear it is NokamaNokamaNokama served as Toa Metru of Water, endured the Hordika mutation, and led Ga-Koro and later Ga-Metru as Turaga through three eras. who tells the story instead. Time Trap is the one Vakama did not reveal to the Toa Nuva at all, which makes it the odd volume out of the set and, as it happens, Farshtey's own favourite BIONICLE book.

The ten books#
