Frequently asked questions
- What was the Stone Tribe?
- The Stone Tribe, also called the Rock Tribe, was the Bara Magna tribe of the Black Spike Mountains and the country to their north, composed of Skrall warriors at the top and Rock Tribe Agori villagers beneath them. It was the only village tribe whose Agori lived under the rule of its warriors rather than alongside them.
- How did the Baterra affect the Stone Tribe?
- The Baterra were shapeshifting machines that hunted any figure carrying a weapon, which made the always-armed leader-class Skrall uniquely vulnerable. By the end of the Baterra advance, every leader-class Skrall save Tuma was dead, the northern fortress city was no longer defensible, and the males abandoned it, leaving the Sisters of the Skrall behind.
- How did the Stone Tribe come to occupy Roxtus?
- After migrating south through the Black Spike Mountains, the surviving Skrall found Roxtus, an abandoned Agori trading town at the base of Skull Mountain that the Vorox had cleared of its original inhabitants. The Skrall brushed the Vorox aside and occupied the walls, and Tuma reorganised the tribe around the city on a permanent wartime footing.
- What did the Stone Tribe accomplish under Tuma?
- Under Tuma the Skrall dominated the Glatorian arena circuit, used Metus as a paid informant on the southern villages, and allied with the Bone Hunters. They sacked Atero during its Great Tournament and razed Tajun, gaining control of the trade arteries and arena economy of every village south of the Spikes.
- How did the Stone Tribe's empire end?
- At the Battle of Roxtus, Mata Nui challenged Tuma to single combat, struck the Baterra wound on his back repeatedly, and brought him down. Metus was exposed as a traitor and turned into a snake, a swarm of Scarabax beetles panicked the Skrall into believing the Baterra had reached the city, and the army broke and ran into the desert.
