The war ended in catastrophe rather than victory. Once the Fire Tribe held the spring it began draining it. Raanu and Kyry rushed to warn the warriors there, but Malum brushed them off, saying the Fire Tribe was winning the war. As the ancient warrior Surel later told it, the Element Lords had led the tribes into war, and when their actions destroyed the planet they were trapped. The Fire Tribe survivors on Bara Magna were left without their Lord, and in time they joined the other tribes in the arena system that settled disputes in place of war. The Fire Lord's own war did not stop with the Shattering. Surel said it had ended for the Agori and for the soldiers, but for the Element Lords the struggle went on. The avalanche never reached them. A blinding flash and a wave of heat set the mountainside ablaze, melting the snow to water and the water to steam in an instant, while the ice warrior on the peak raged. Tarduk took the jet of flames as a deliberate rescue by the Element Lord of Fire. SurelSurelSurel is a Glatorian and the Element Lord of Ice, native to Spherus Magna. Clad in white and light blue, he wanders the reformed Spherus Magna armed with a spear. laughed at that. He told them they were dust to the Fire Lord, not even dust, and that the flames had been an attack on his frozen enemy with the Agori simply caught between the two. Powers, Form, and Final Disposition#

The Element Lord of Fire was one with the element of fire, and the firestorm in the White Quartz Mountains shows the scale of what he could do. The other Lords in the same serial show the abilities they shared: the Water Lord shaped a face out of a river and spoke through it, the Rock Lord spoke through a stone statue, and the Jungle Lord felt the pain when his vines were set alight. Being part of the element meant harm to it could reach him, which is why the Water Lord fled when the Ice Lord began freezing his river. The Element Lord of Jungle also scorned Fire as a force that only knows how to destroy, and said he had seen Fire try and fail, time after time, to get through the Valley of the MazeThe Valley of the MazeThe northern Bara Magna maze where the Great Beings hid the unstable Power Source of the Prototype Robot, sealed behind puzzle traps and a fortress that few outsiders ever survived to describe. that all the Lords were now after.
