Frequently asked questions
- What was the Vahki Transport?
- The Vahki Transport was a multi-legged cargo vehicle produced in the workshops of Metru Nui and operated by the Vahki order-keeping units to move freight and immobilised Matoran across the city. It was supported on multiple articulated legs rather than wheels or treads and was not built to operate on water.
- How did the Toa Metru use the Vahki Transport to escape Metru Nui?
- After rescuing six Matoran in Matoran Spheres from the Coliseum, the Toa Metru and Lhikan used a transport to clear the city, breaking contact with pursuing Vahki by piloting it into the Silver Sea so it appeared to sink. They attached the recovered Matoran Spheres to the underside for flotation, since the transport had no native buoyancy.
- Why was the transport named the Lhikan?
- The vessel was christened the Lhikan in memory of the Toa Mangai who had sacrificed his Toa power to create the Toa Metru and had died in the events preceding the escape. Both this vessel and its successor bore his name as an act of memorialisation.
- What happened to the Lhikan during the crossing?
- Teridax intercepted the Lhikan in his mass-absorbed form, and the team overcame and imprisoned him, but the encounter and a subsequent storm inflicted heavy damage. The Lhikan was caught in the storm on the return leg and sank after being struck by a large wave, with the six Toa Metru gathering dazed but unharmed on a beach afterward.
- What was the Lhikan II?
- The Lhikan II was the second vessel the Toa Metru rebuilt from the original transport's salvage and the branches of the Karzahni plant, used for the return voyage to recover the Matoran left behind. It reached Metru Nui but was destroyed and sank during the team's renewed approach to a city overrun by the Visorak.
