Why Was Moff Gideon So Terrified Of Luke Skywalker?

Because Luke Skywalker was the one name in the galaxy that had personally undone everything Gideon's Empire was built on. Two Death Stars gone. The Emperor dead. Darth Vader dead. From the remnant's point of view, all of it traced back to a single Jedi, and that Jedi had just cut his way through a squad of dark troopers to reach a corridor Gideon was standing in. Gideon was not a man who scared easily#

Everything about Moff Gideon before that moment is calculated confidence. He survived the collapse of the Galactic Empire by faking his own execution for war crimes and walking away with a personal remnant that included pieces of the Imperial Army, the Imperial Navy, and other allied holdouts. He ran the Great Purge of Mandalore by making Bo-Katan Kryze an offer, promising to spare the surviving Mandalorian warriors and cities in exchange for their surrender and the Darksaber, then breaking that promise the moment the ceasefire freed his forces to slaughter everyone.
